Peace for NE India?

Great News for North East India

The Shillong Times headlines May 23, 2007 reports Killings and Kidnappings in North East India Down this is based on a Report to the People 2006 2007 released by Prime Minster Manmohan Singh yesterday. “There is much we have done in these three years but much more that we need to do to win the war against poverty, ignorance and disease and fight against extremism, communalism and terrorism”

Perhaps the combined effort of the Indian government and entrepreneurs will help to bring peace  to this beautiful region of the world. 

Cheese in India

If I had the time I would start a cheeze factory. The best hotels in India must need quality cheeze and it would bring prosperity to this underdeveloped area of India.  Our raw milk comes from near this haystack. It arrives fresh and raw directly from the farmer so we boil it. I bet it would make great cheeze.

But in a country of 1.1 billion people, where 800 million earn $2 a day or less, the Naxal movement shows that members-only progress can spur a deep sense of injustice. Economic growth of 7-8% sounds pretty good until you realize it means just an extra $40 a year for the average Indian.
