As medical tourism gains impetus in India, since it is one of the
chepaest tourism destinations, it was decided by the Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare, following a meeting with the Ministry of Tourism,
has made a statement that a National Accreditation Health Board needs
to be established to maintain international standards in the country’s
medical facilities. According to an official statement - “Medical
tourism as an industry has begun to take concrete shape with the
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Tourism
thrashing out the intricacies involved.”
