Comic book writer needed

Chillibreeze is writing a comic book about Malaria.

The idea is to communicate simple solutions with a test at the end that the people mail in to us. We hope a contest will motivate and create some buzz.

 

Our goals is to educate the village people in Meghalaya about Malaria.

 

We need to  find a writer to write a script and we have a team of talented people in Shillong who can draw the illustrations and do the layout etc.

 

The end result  is a story where people learn about malaria. The  writer should  be familiar with village india and able to write an interesting story about a village and malaria or a family and malaria.  The story can even have malaria as a sub theme and not the main theme. The story needs to be really interesting and perhaps fun but the message of what to do about malaria must be taught. Perhaps there can be a hero and a villain - and perhaps the main character can be reused for some other comic book?

 

I am not sure but I guess some of the people reading the book will not be able to read but I think most kids can read?  The illustrations will help tell the story. Anyway it will need to be tested.  My guess is that the commic book should be just 6-8 pages.

Finally, who every writes the book will need to research to discover three simple solutions for Malaria. For example: people should learn what to do if someone shows symtoms. people should know that a net is a good low cost way to prevent malaria, people should learn that standing water can be a problem etc. ( these are off the top of my head)
